We love to help our clients look and feel fantastic in their own skin, helping elevate their natural beauty and build their confidence. From dermatological treatments to facial aesthetics, our client testimonials show how lasting and reliable our results are.

When it comes to dermal fillers, our clients often ask the same kinds of questions – wondering mainly about longevity, risks, pain and location. We thought we’d cover those off in today’s blog post, so you feel a bit more informed about what’s involved, if you’re interested in treatment.

Where can you inject dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are typically used in the lower-half of the face, like around the mouth, nose and chin. They’re a great way to smooth the skin, sculpt and shape the features, and bring harmony to the face. They’re also ideal for the lips – creating shape, definition and volume all in one.

How long do dermal fillers last?

It really varies between clients, but it can be up to 18 months. Of course, some people metabolise the hyaluronic acid used in the injections more quickly than others, and might need more regular sessions. And, for others, only a top-up is needed now and then to maintain their fantastic results. If you’re unsure about results, just chat to our team.

What about pain?

We always want our clients to feel comfortable here at our Suffolk skin clinic. Whether it’s a dermatology treatment or a facial aesthetics procedure, it’s all about giving you peace of mind and achieving the great results you deserve. Dermal fillers are injected with an extremely fine needle, which feels more comfortable on the skin, and a numbing agent can be used to help prevent pain. After treatment, using a cold compress and over-the-counter pain relief for the next few days is usually all that’s needed, if anything.

Are there risks of treatment?

All procedures carry an element of risk. With dermal fillers, it’s mainly around use of needles. These can cause bruising, swelling and tenderness. Other risks and side-effects beyond these are rare.

What else do I need to know?

Dermal fillers, if hyaluronic acid-based, can be dissolved to help reverse the effects. So, if you’ve had treatment elsewhere and aren’t happy with the results, we might be able to help get you back on track.
