SkinPen microneedling treatment stimulates the healthy collagen and elastin levels of your youth to rejuvenate ageing skin and replace skin cells that have been damaged by scarring, wrinkles, wounds, and stretch marks. This treatment not only combats ageing skin, but also replaces blemishes and skin anomalies, with a youthfully even skin tone and texture.

Depending on the size of the area you’re having treated, we would expect your treatment to last between 20 and 45 minutes.

You will be advised to allow for 24 hours of downtime.

The results of your SkinPen microneedling treatment should last for between 3 and 6 months.

The SkinPen vibrates during treatment to allow the minute needles at its tip to puncture the skin. Numbing cream will be applied beforehand so that you’re not in any pain.

There may be some discomfort and inflammation immediately following treatment, as well as the possible risk of infection. Rebecca will advise you as to how to best care for the treated area so as to minimalise the risk of your skin becoming infected.

Rebecca will advise you on how you can best wash and look after your skin afterwards, but you can expect to refrain from wearing making-up and doing strenuous exercise temporarily.

FAQS ABOUT SKINPEN MICRONEEDLING

  • The microneedling device, as the name suggests, contains fourteen tiny needles at its tip. When these needles puncture the skin, the body boosts collagen levels in response, giving you smooth, fresher skin tissue in the treatment area.

  • The SkinPen device can reduce the scarring left by acne, stretch marks, signs of ageing, and enlarged pores. It can also give tired, dull skin a boost, balance skin tone and restore lost skin volume.

  • Bruising, swelling, and redness are common afterwards, but these very minor side effects should subside after just a couple of days.

  • It’s really not. An anaesthetic numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area beforehand to ensure you’re in no pain throughout the procedure.

  • Typically it takes 8 weeks for the results of SkinPen microneedling to become visible.

  • This will depend on your age, your skin condition and a variety of other factors. Typically you might find that between 3 and 6 treatments in an 8-week period will help you achieve optimal results.
